Logistics Representative/Dispatch Specialist WANTED

An established 3rd party logistics company (3PL) is now looking for talented individuals for our ever expanding logistics and freight brokerage.

As a Dispatch Specialist you will be responsible for daily communications with carriers. You will support the sales team by confirming all assigned loads are completed to the satisfaction of our company’s quality standards using our Transportation Management System. You will perform real-time monitoring for freight on the road, through check-in calls. You will ensure our customers are delivered quality service by contacting drivers and dispatchers directly to gather all paperwork needed to complete shipments.
Major Responsibilities
- Communicate with drivers to confirm pickup and delivery of shipments
- Proactively track shipments to ensure shipment deadlines are met.
- Maintain records and ensure information is timely and correct
- Provide delivery instructions based upon appointment schedule required by customer
- Customer service
Qualifications
- 1-2 years previous experience in transportation, warehouse or distribution preferred but not required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred
- Knowledge/Experience in transportation environment, (i.e.: Shipping, receiving, warehouse management or dispatch preferred.)
- Strong multi-tasking skills and problem solving in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work in a team environment, while also delivering independent results
- Attention to detail & accuracy is a must
- Flexible & strong prioritization skills; able to change focus quickly to meet demands of market conditions and company needs
- Must have excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to learn quickly
