BASIC FUNCTION:
The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing inbound and outbound deliveries throughout all company locations. They monitor and adjust critical operating processes such as routing, driver safety, asset management, loading, and shipping of products to multiple locations. This position provides effective leadership to direct workflow to ensure efficient logistic operations and adherence to policy, procedure, and process excellence. They are primarily responsible for cost controls through improvement initiatives, personnel productivity, and efficient utilization of department assets. Position Primary Responsibilities:
- Implements inbound and outbound logistics strategies that minimize costs while improving efficiencies
- Manages logistic vendor relationships (Penske, LTL partners, small parcel carriers, couriers, etc.)
- Establishes logistics KPIs to ensure strong department performance
- Manages Deliver and Route software and ensures proper utilization to maximize vehicle efficiency
- Partners with support staff to ensure compliance with all DOT regulations and oversees carrier services and processes
- Executes annual departmental business plan and provides detailed updates to senior leadership when required
- Decides how to achieve planned results within an organization's plans, policies, and guidelines
- Provides analysis for monthly budget meetings and is accountable for achieving agreed upon results
- Completes cost justification and determines ROI on departmental projects
- Works with HR & Training departments to ensure driver files are maintained and safety programs are implemented
- Ensures branch assets (vehicles and forklifts) are properly maintained via preventative maintenance programs
Position Secondary Responsibilities:
- Assists with creating standard operating procedures and checks to make sure operational follow through
- Assists with assessing and monitoring the effectiveness of all development and training initiatives against pre-defined metrics
- Assists with educational efforts and resources toward activities that are critical to the company’s business strategy
- Performs other departmental duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Strategic planning, organization, communication, presentation, and connectivity skills
- Understand margin, P&L, and how to drive unparalleled success in these areas
- Able to travel to multi-cities and states, including overnights
- Outstanding performance-based supply chain acumen, as well as proven leadership and relationship building skills
- BS in Business, with 5 -10+ years in HVAC/R or similar experience
- Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and professionalism
