Job description
Responsibilities:
- Communication between IPCC and carrier companies
- Onboard more cost effective 3PL and owner/operator carriers
- Provide attention to shipping operational detail while being cost conscious and time sensitive at all time
- Understand and answer customer needs in a timely manner
- Ensure Clients, Departments, and/or other required parties are kept fully informed of transport arrangements and status on a regular basis from pick up to delivery
- Resolve problems, including identifying issues, thinking critically, seeking input to determine the best course of action, and implementing solutions
- Handle accounting processes; including price negotiations, on-time billing, zero demurrage mindset, rate calculations, price conversions, profit loss analysis
Requirements
- Experience within a transportation and/or logistics brokerage required.
- Ability to prospect, cold call, follow up and work on new business.
- Strong communication skills
- Develop and execute business plan strategies (bid proposal packages-larger customers).
- Computer literate (Microsoft Suite: Power Point, Word, Excel).
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
