Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Logistics Manager to oversee our company's supply chain operations. The Logistics Manager will be responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of logistics, including procurement, transportation, inventory management, and order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics management and possess excellent leadership and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs
- Oversee the procurement process, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing vendor relationships
- Coordinate transportation activities, including shipping and receiving, to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Manage inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing carrying costs
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations and timely order fulfillment
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in the logistics industry
- Implement best practices for data collection, analysis, and reporting to drive informed decision-making
- Supervise and train logistics staff, providing guidance and support as needed
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of logistics principles, including procurement, transportation, warehousing, and distribution
- Proficient in using logistics management software and systems
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect and interpret data
- Familiarity with forklift operation and other material-handling equipment
- Knowledge of NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) operations is a plus
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal teams, external partners, and vendors
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Proven leadership abilities with the capability to motivate and manage a team
