Logistics Coordinator

Position Summary:

Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the pick up and delivery of merchandise from the pickup point to the delivery point. In most cases a two person team will be responsible for the timely and safe delivery of goods by using team lifting and or material handling equipment. Attention to detail is required so no damage takes place during this process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Driver must be able to drive 26ft box truck and or smaller Arc vehicles provided.
• Driver must be able to maneuver vehicles into a variety of loading and unloading positions, ie loading docks, ramps, assigned parking spots without damage to vehicle and or any properties.
• Acts as a customer service liaison between the company and the customer. Handling the customers concerns and helps resolve any issues that arise during pickup and or delivery in a courteous and professional manner.
• Follows all safety procedures at all times loading and unloading to protect associates, customers, merchandise, and customers property, to include safety trainings when needed.
• Conduct daily inspections of vehicle before using, must report any defects and or mechanical issues to Transportation Director immediately upon findings.
• Keep track of all log book inquires of the company guidelines
• Partnering with Transportation Director to keep vehicle on a regular preventative maintenance plan.
• Partners with Thrift Store Manager on pick up or delivery schedules, needs of merchandise placement of Thrift Store.
• Partners with Production Manager for deliveries of items to customers.
• Assists with operating a forklift, pallet jacks, and other equipment provided in warehouse for loading merchandise.
• Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of box truck, and or delivery vehicle.
• Maintain the ability to meet the physical requirements of this position as related to duties at all times.
• Loading and unloading of merchandise with a team member or helper.
• Securing of all merchandise into truck to prevent unnecessary damage with tie down straps, and blankets.
• Strong communication skills are required between driver, customer, Thrift Store Manager, Transportation Manager, Production Manager, Senior Director of Operational Logistics.
• Other duties as assigned by the Senior Director/ COO / or CEO.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to use a variety of electronic equipment, such as mapping apps.
• Ability to meet drug free workplace and other required background checks.
• Maintain professional and courteous demeanor.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, agencies, vendors, donors and funders.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education required.

• At least 3 years experience in retail, or warehouse, organizational or logistics experience.

• Must possess and maintain a current Florida’s Driver’s License and state minimum requirements for auto insurance.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

• Regularly sit, stand reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear.
• Ability to bend, carry, climb, grasp, kneel, lift, pull, push, reach, squat, twist, and walk as related to duties of this position.
• crouch, and lift and/or carry office equipment, and boxes up to 50 pounds.
• Driving to project sites, which may include walking, loading, bending to perform inspections and observations.
• Primary working conditions are typical for an indoor/office environment requiring sitting for an extended period of time; frequent use of computers and standard office equipment.
