PURPOSE:
The Logistics Analyst reports to the Freight Procurement Manager and is responsible for managing and analyzing freight data, invoice processing, providing support and research into carrier payment issues, process improvement opportunities to be implemented for business growth, as well as support for the overall Freight Procurement function.
KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform analysis on market freight prices to determine ideal target freight cost
- Provide rail and truck freight quotes to Sales and other internal business partners
- Update and maintain master data in SAP TM pertaining to freight procurement
- Prepare and interpret freight procurement analytics
- Analyze carrier statements to ensure timely and accurate payment to carriers
- Provide support, analysis, and research into carrier payment issues
- Process non-EDI invoices from carriers through SAP TM when EDI fails
- Resolve freight invoice disputes in SAP TM and through IDOC errors
- Support the implementation of new Supply Chain processes and system changes
- Analyze and recommended projects to improve freight procurement efficiencies through monthly OTC metrics
- Maintain continuous communication with internal business partners such as Sales, Transportation, Customer Service, and external business partners such as carriers and railroads
- Recommend improvements through identified process improvement opportunities for freight procurement or for Calumet as a whole
- Ad hoc duties as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:
- Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 3 years of work experience in business related field
- 1+ years of SAP experience
- Strong analytical, statistical, and computer skills
- Transportation or Supply Chain experience
- Experience with MS Office, including Word and Excel
- Experience with VLOOKUP, Conditional Formatting, and Formulas
