Chenega Government Mission Solutions, LLC, a Chenega Professional Services’ company, is looking for a Family Medicine Physician to support the Lawton Indian Hospital Clinic in Carnegie, Oklahoma in support of Indian Health Services (IHS) to raise the physical, mental, social, and spiritual health of American Indians and Alaska Natives to the highest level and assure that comprehensive, culturally acceptable personal and public health services are available and accessible to members of the 574 federally recognized Tribes across the United States.

Responsibilities
- Examine, diagnose, and develop treatment plans and recommendations for patients seen.
- Recommend and refer patients to other Indian Health Service providers and Purchase Referred Care vendors within appropriate IHS guidelines.
- Maintain electronic documenting services utilizing the appropriate electronic medical record system for patient encounters; complete all required administrative paperwork within 24-hours of patient visit to include electronic consults, co-signatures, completion of chart or Risk Management Reviews, unusual occurrences and peer review, as required.
- Responsible for actions necessary for The Joint Commission (TJC) standard compliance and administrative policies, as directed.
- Complete all annual training required by the Clinical Director and IHS/HHS policies.
- See no less than an estimated 20 patients per eight (8) hour work day.
Qualifications
- Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States.
- Board certified in or Board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Practice.
- Apply and be accepted as Associate member of the On-Site Medical staff.
- Successful completion of a residency program in an approved Internal Medicine or Family Practice Training Program.
- Documentation of Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Current DEA license and State CDS license, if required by the DEA.
- Must provide documentation of past insurance carriers during the past 10 years
- Must reside in the U.S. and be able to pass a Government Background Check
- Will be required to develop familiarity and abide by current policies, procedures, by-laws and regulation of the on-site clinical and medical staff.
- Shall provide documentation and maintain current professional liability insurance coverage in the
amounts of $1 million per occurrence and $3 million aggregate per provider.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must speak, understand, read and write English fluently and communicate with sufficient clarity to be understood by IHS personnel and patients.
- Must act in a thoroughly professional manner at all times
- Must work in harmony with other members of the professional and technical staff, in keeping with the established patterns of interaction at the IHS facilities sites where they are working
- Possess tact and courtesy when interacting with patients and staff
- Must possess sufficient initiative, interpersonal relationship skills and social sensitivity such that he/she can relate constructively to patients of the Native American communities.
- Able to maintain standards of personal hygiene and grooming such that his/her image as a physician is compatible with the expectations of the on-site supervisor.
- The Family Medicine Physician employee will be working Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
- The Family Medicine Physician employee will work onsite at the Lawton Indian Hospital Clinic in Carnegie, Oklahoma.
