St. Catherine Hospital is looking for OB/GYN coverage for the dates below at both Dodge City and Garden City Locations.

**IMPORTANT!** What You Need To Know:
1. Presentation Checklist:
  • All providers submissions must include the Presentation Checklist attached in the Practice Description or accessible here. Please ensure this document is completed and uploaded in the Documents tab prior to presentation.
2. Provider Expectations:
  • All submitted providers MUST AGREE to the expectations on the document here. Many providers have advised they were NOT given this document to confirm they are agreeable, please ensure this is done prior to presentation.
3. Kansas Malpractice:
  • By law, the Kansas Board of Healing Arts requires certain health care providers (chiropractors, nurse anesthetists, nurse midwives, physicians, physician assistants, and podiatrists) who obtain medical licenses to practice in the state of Kansas to be enrolled in the KS Health Care Stabilization Fund as part of the issuance of an active KS medical license. The KS Health Care Stabilization Fund (HCSF) requires that the primary layer of professional liability insurance coverage must be provided through a qualified "admitted carrier"

Dates of Coverage:
  • St. Catherine Hospital - Garden City

    • Start TBD
    • 7 days per month stretches
    • Ongoing coverage through EOY 2024

    Details:
    • Surgical blocks are twice per week for non-emergent surgeries.
    • Call is 24-hour shifts from 7a-7a and includes all obstetrics as well as emergency gynecology and obstetric cases.
    • Physician working in clinic seeing ob/gyn patients for new obstetrics, established obstetrics, new gynecology issues, and surgical consultations.
    • Physicians working with CRNA's and midwives
    • Support Staff: Lab Tech, LPN/LVN, MA, X-ray Tech, RN
    • Physicians working with CRNA's and midwives
    • 2 facilities - Garden City & Dodge City.
    • Setting: Clinic and inpatient call.
    • Required procedures/job duties: all OB/GYN procedures including more than 5 c-section in the last 24 months & more than 5 hysterectomies in the last 24 months. Need to have procedure log at time of presentation.
    • EMR: EPIC
    • Reason for coverage: 2 vacancies.
    • Will NOT consider candidates wishing to do clinic only!
    • Adequate procedures for privileging -- need to have procedure log at time of candidate presentation.
      Must have
      the following within the past 24 months: at least 5 hysterectomies and at least 5 C sections.

    Additional Details / Questions Answered by Facility:
    • Census: Patient population, Adult, Adolescent; Number of beds, 10; Admissions, Clinic 16-25; inpatient 3-6
    • Additional Info: NICU available staffed with neonatal nurse practitioner with tele-neonatologist back-up.
    • Facility has back-up with skilled general surgeons & urologist
    • St. Catherine Hosptial in Garden City also has critical care physicians and cardiologists.
    • Do you know how many births each facilities does approximately each year? 50 births a year for each facility
    • As well as what NICU level each facility has? NICU level 2 for Garden only, No NICU at Dodge

    Credentialing Information:
    • Timeframe: payor credentialing 60 days from state license issue
    • Credentialing with other facilities? Possible for providers that can cover both locations.
    • Billing enrollment - Is this position providing services in lieu of an existing enrolled provider for a period of 60 days or less? No
    • Need to have procedure log at time of candidate presentation.

    Travel Preferences:
    • Preferred Lodging: Hotel must be within 15 minutes of the hospital - Must follow CS guidelines.
    • Air Travel: Acceptable

    Rates to Submit:
    • Malpractice - KS Malpractice requirement - Please see note above about KS Stabilization Fund
    • Orientation - half the hourly rate, kicks in after 8 hours. - "per hour of orientation or training beyond 8 hours"
    • 24 hour call - Must include 4 hours gratis - "per 24 hours to hold the pager, to include 4 hours gratis"
    • Call back rate - Must match hourly rate - "per hour of patient contact hours after gratis hours are completed. Gratis prorate to MSA terms."
    • Holiday rates - 1.5x the regular rate per CS guidelines for all corresponding rates.

    Requirement description : ALL OF THE FOLLOWING MUST BE NOTED IN ADDITIONAL SUBMISSION DETAILS AT NAME CLEAR TO BE CONSIDERED AND AVOID BEING REDIRECTED!!

    • Board Certified OB/GYN - REQUIRED or Truly BE (within 3 years of residency completion).
    • Active KS License - HIGHLY PREFFERED, OPEN TO CANDIDATES WILLING TO OBTAIN IMLC.
    • Active BLS - REQUIRED
    • Clean Malpractice/background - HIGHLY PREFERRED
    • Procedure case logs for a minimum of 24 months; at least 5 hysterectomies, 5 deliveries, and at least 5 c-sections - REQUIRED AT PRESENTATION
    • Must note if provider is open to doing clinic + call - REQUIRED
    • COVID VACCINATED - REQUIRED

    Important Steps for Submitting a Presentation - There are two main areas detailed below.

    1. Trio Submission requirements covers the information that must be entered into Trio to have the provider presentation presented to the client.
    2. Presentation submission requirements includes the information that must be sent over in the presentation packet to have your provider presentation reviewed and presented to the client.

    Strict adherence to these guidelines will allow for the fastest path to getting your providers accepted. To process the best presentations, Account Coordinators and Account Managers will kickback presentations that do not include the information below (if it has not been discussed already). If you are unable to include something in the presentation, detail why and the plan to get it sent over. Account Managers and Account Coordinators will take this into account as they review the presentation, though they still reserve the right to redirect it back to the vendor if they deem it necessary.

    Trio Submission requirements- the following must be updated in Trio

    • Full legal name (first, middle, last)
    • Suffix for provider (MD, DO, PA, NP, CRNA)
    • NPI number must be entered in Trio
    • Provider email and best phone number (this pulls to the cover page for Client)
    • Best time to contact (this pulls to the cover page for the Client)
    • Years of experience must be updated in Trio
      • Years of locums experience is optional
    • License State where job is located... Copy of state license and the status. If provider s license in any other status besides active speak to Account Manager before presenting.
    • Other Active State License(s)- only list if not in good standing and provide explanation.
    • Certification (select multiple that apply; this pulls to the cover page for the Client)
    • Availability Section what is the providers ongoing availability (this pulls to the cover page for Client)
    • Answer the pertinent questions:
      • Has the provider s professional license or certification been investigated or suspended? (pulls to the cover page for the Client)
      • Has the provider been convicted of, or charged with, a crime other than a minor traffic violation?
    • Malpractice History- add details- payouts, pending cases, settled cases and dismissals or list no malpractice
    • In Additional Details section- (Client can view these details)
    • Please state if provider is IMLC
    • Please state if DEA will be obtained or transferred
    • Highlights about the provider
    • List if provider has worked at any other CommonSpirit (CHI or Dignity facilities)
    • Bill Rates section
    • Make sure all rates match the Master Services Agreement
    • Does the provider require - Airfare, Lodging and Rental (must be withing CommonSpirit Travel Guidelines)

    Presentation submission requirements

    • Include an up-to-date CV, which shall include:
      • Scope of practice in CV job history section for each job.
      • Explain gaps on CV (30-day or larger gaps)
    • Copy of Board Certification(s)- If board eligible (List if Candidate is within 5-years of residency?)
    • Submit a copy of clean Sex Offender search- include screen shot - https://www.nsopw.gov/?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1
    • Supporting certifications such as DEA, BLS, ACLS, ATLS, NRP, PALS
    • Procedures provider is comfortable performing: (For Inpatient Services)
    • Copy of state license active status. If provider s license is in any other state besides Active, speak to Account Manager before presenting
    • If obtaining a new state license for provider- detail where in the process the provider is currently
    • Other Active State License(s)- list the state, license number and status
    • Disciplinary Actions: (Must provide detailed explanation with presentation)
    • Malpractice History- supporting documentation
    • Two current Vendor references forms filled out (within two years) supervisor and peer or two peer references (requirements could vary by Facility). Please speak to the RM if Candidate is new to Vendor and references have not been obtained
