Locomotive Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Freight Railroad Locomotive Engineer to join our team. As an Locomotive Engineer, you will be responsible for utilizing your knowledge and skills to perform various tasks related to heavy equipment operation and maintenance. This is a great opportunity for someone with Railroad Locomotive Engineer experience .

Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain Railroad Freight Locomotives ensuring proper functionality and safety. Interpret train orders and railroad rules and regulations to transport rail cars in a safe manner.

• Inspecting locomotives for operational readiness by making FRA and Company required checks and tests.

• Receiving train consist which provides the physical make-up of train and includes weights, lengths, location of loads and empties, and cars requiring special handling.

• Applying knowledge of territory, including terrain, grades, curves, and grade crossings, in order to give prescribed warning signals and to otherwise operate the train in a safe manner.

• Complying with train orders, train signals, radio communications and railroad rules and regulations to operate the locomotive in an efficient and safe manner.

• Conferring by radio to give or receive information and to give instructions.

• Placing rail cars to facilitate loading and unloading and the makeup and breakdown of trains in a rail yard, industrial plant, or similar locations.

• Ensuring compliance with all train orders, and railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations, and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA).

• Comprehending and reviewing instructions from dispatchers and supervisors and discuss with Locomotive Engineer and train crew. Requires that you can work in all kinds of weather.

Pay: $28.76 per hour
