As a Localization QA Lead, you will collaborate with internal and external partners to assess and improve the quality of localized content. The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to work autonomously. You will also need to successfully work with technical and non-technical people alike, and have a desire to learn new tools, processes, and concepts.
This role will be a full time (40 hours/week) 1 year contract with the possibility of being extended later on.
Responsibilities
- Lead localization QA test projects using a team of external vendor testers.
- Partner with cross-functional internal teams including QA, Engineering, and Product to adapt and develop LQA test plans.
- Collaborate with team of external vendor testers, ensuring that requirements and instructions are understood, and monitor external tester performance.
- Own and maintain external test accounts.
- Establish best practices for Localization QA testing and bug tracking.
- Triage and prioritize bugs and track them from discovery to resolution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address LQA bugs.
- Provide regular status updates on bug resolution progress to higher management using Jira dashboard.
- Gather metrics and create quality reports.
- Use metrics to determine features or languages that need additional testing.
- Provide recommendations on launch readiness of new features.
- Respond to all requests from team members in a timely, professional manner.
Job Skills & Requirements
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing test cases, scripts, plans, and procedures to support various development methodologies.
- Experience coordinating with external QA resources.
- Detailed and effective written communication skills for documenting the features tested and bugs found.
- Understanding of existing QA best practices and methodologies to design, implement and automate processes.
- Prior success using a metrics-driven approach and closed-loop feedback to improve software deliverables and improve predictability and reliability of releases.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, extremely responsive, and able to prioritize a large number of tasks.
- Self-motivated, work well independently and with others.
- Interest and background in translation, internationalization, localization, and international markets
- Knowledge of international standards like Unicode, CLDR, and ICU.
- Native-level fluency skills in one or more foreign languages.
- Experience working with TestRail or similar QA management software.

Welocalize carefully considers a wide range of compensation variables including geographic location, job scope and complexity, skill level, experience, or industry-specific knowledge. Compensation will be mutually agreed upon at offer and may be above the posted range due to compensation variables.
Salary Range: up to $30/hour
