Local Knuckle Boom Crane Delivery Driver

Job Description

G.W. Murphy, Inc. (dba / Ray's Roofing Supply) is a growing company that has been supplying roofing materials to the Chicagoland area and nationwide for over 45 years. We are looking for full-time, safe, efficient drivers to make Chicagoland rooftop deliveries of roofing and building materials with 80' Knuckle Boom Cranes on flatbed straight trucks. Also to use flatbed trucks equipped with 36' conveyors and piggyback forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Able to navigate efficiently and make safe, on-time deliveries of roofing materials to retailers and jobsites in Chicagoland area.
• Treat customers in friendly, professional manner.
• Perform all needed inspections on loads and equipment.
• Keep vehicles clean and report maintenance issues.
• Operate vehicles legally and safely at all times.
• Maintain accurate records and paperwork.
• Load and unload trucks accurately and safely.
• Able to operate truck mounted forklift, conveyor boom, and Knuckle Boom Crane.
• Assist in warehouse and yard as needed.

Requirements:

• Current "A or B" class CDL with Air Brake Endorsement required.
• Current Chicago Mobile Crane license required.
• Current NCCCO crane certification required.
• Experience making rooftop deliveries of building materials with Knuckle Boom/crane and rooftop conveyor delivery trucks preferred.
• Knowledge of Chicagoland area streets.
• Previous flatbed truck driving experience.
• Previous forklift operating experience preferred.
• Previous piggyback forklift delivery experience preferred.
• Knowledge of roofing and building materials preferred.
• Able to lift up to 70 - 100 lbs. repetitively if needed.
• Current copy of Driver’s License and MVR.
• Able to pass DOT physical, drug, and background checks.
• Able to work well with others and provide great customer service.
• Flexible attitude to work and help as needed including the yard and warehouse.
