For this role, you would be working directly with the High School Inbound department, bringing exchange students to your communities.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a responsible and organized individual to join our team as a Local Coordinator with CIEE (Council on International Educational Exchange). As a Local Coordinator, you will be responsible for finding suitable host families for high school exchange students, ensuring they meet the necessary vetting criteria, and supervising the students during their time in the country. This position requires you to work independently, and you will be compensated based on the completion of specific tasks. The opportunity is available for individuals who reside within a 120-mile radius of their home address and are capable of placing 5 or more students.
Responsibilities:
- Recruit and select host families that meet the requirements and guidelines set by CIEE.
- Conduct thorough checks on potential host families, including home visits and interviews.
- Provide support and guidance to host families regarding student placement, cultural exchange, and program rules and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and CIEE policies.
- Orientate students and host families on program expectations and student welfare.
- Maintain regular communication with both students and host families to address any concerns or issues that may arise.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring their safety, well-being, and academic success.
- Report any incidents or emergencies promptly to the appropriate CIEE staff.
Requirements:
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel within a 120-mile radius from your home address.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with both host families and students.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
- Prior experience in working with host families, foreign exchange students, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of local communities and culture.
- Proficient computer skills and internet access for remote communication and reporting.
- Flexibility and availability to address any issues that may arise outside of normal business hours.
- Must be comfortable working with diverse populations and adapting to different cultural norms.
Compensation:
As an independent contractor, compensation for this position is based on the completion of specific tasks or milestones. Details regarding payment rates and the payment schedule will be discussed during the interview process.
