Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare lending and ancillaryproduct documents for loans to be disbursed or modified.
- Close loans with members viaface-to-face or e-sign platforms.
- Prepare and track title andother security documents, and insurance coverage, on loan collateral.
- Back up other lendingfunctions (sales, underwriting, etc.) as needed.
- Provide limited financialcounseling to members, as needed.
- Maintain current knowledge oflending compliance and industry trends.
- Perform other clerical dutiesregarding lending as needed.
Other duties involving lendingmay be assigned. Each employee willadditionally be assigned training, including annual Bank Secrecy Act training, thatmay include testing. Employees will berequired to earn a passing grade, as set by the vendor or AFCU. All employees will be required to activelyparticipate in credit union advocacy efforts and are encouraged to contributeto credit union trade advocacy funds, such as CUPAC/CULAC.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- High school diploma and minimumtwo years' experience in lending environment. Mortgage lending experience preferred but not required.
- Extreme attention to detailand ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment.
- Superb proficiency with coreprocessing systems, loan origination systems, digital channels, and electronicdelivery systems. Minimum typing speedof 50wpm. Proficiency in Microsoft Wordand Excel. Ability to use Adobe or otherlike software to complete and view fillable documents.
- Ability to read, analyze andinterpret general business periodicals, professional journals and technicalprocedures. Ability to organize thoughtsin written and/ or oral form in a professional and grammatically correctmanner, so that the recipient may easily understand the contents.
- Ability to analyze memberrequests and apply credit union procedures which best serve the member. Ability to explain loan documents to membersin a manner in which they understand.
- Ability to calculate interestaccrued per day on loans. Ability tocalculate minor calculations such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividingand figuring percentages.
- Ability to apply common senseunderstanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagramform. Ability to deal with problemsinvolving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to lift up to 5pounds. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and to walk to otherlocations in building as necessary to complete work. Ability to push heavy doors as necessary togain access to areas needing entry to complete work. Ability to stoop, kneel and crouch tocomplete other tasks as necessary.
