Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Loan Assistant. As a Loan Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the loan processing and underwriting functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in the financial services industry and looking to gain experience in loan operations.

Responsibilities:

- Assist with loan application processing, including reviewing documentation and verifying accuracy of information

- Prepare loan files for underwriting review, ensuring all required documents are included

- Collaborate with loan officers and underwriters to gather additional information or resolve any discrepancies

- Perform data entry tasks, including 10-key typing, to input loan information into the system accurately

- Assist in preparing loan documents and coordinating the closing process

- Maintain organized loan files and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

- Communicate with borrowers, escrow companies, and other parties involved in the loan process to provide updates and address any inquiries

Skills:

- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numbers accurately

- Proficient in using loan processing software and other relevant tools

- Knowledge of FNMA guidelines and underwriting principles

- Familiarity with escrow processes and documentation

- Excellent math skills for calculating interest rates, payments, and other financial figures

- Understanding of banking procedures and regulations related to loans

- Ability to analyze financial documents and contracts

- Effective communication skills to interact with clients and internal stakeholders

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
