About This Role and You
The Chemtrade Beaumont facility is a spent sulfuric acid regeneration plant, providing hydrogen sulfide processing services for the local refinery by converting hydrogen sulfide into sulfuric acid. The Pumper is responsible for but not limited to loading/unloading rail cars and trucks. When the load rack is not fully utilized the Pumper will be asked to assist the maintenance department in maintaining, rebuilding, repairing, and the preventative maintenance of all plant operating equipment and facility buildings at the Beaumont facility.

Position: Pumper/Loader
Primary Location: Beaumont, TX
Schedule: M-F, 7am-3:30pm
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Compensation: $45.92/hr, non-exempt
Hourly rates are determined by role, level, and location. The hourly rate displayed on each job posting reflects the starting rate for new hires for the position. Rates may also be determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. More specific rate factors for your preferred location can be discussed during the hiring process, as some facilities are subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements. Please note that the compensation details listed in the US roles postings reflect the hourly rate only, and do not include benefits, pension contributions or additional incentives such as overtime and shift premiums.

About This Role and You

Qualitications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Industrial Plant Pumper Experience Preferred
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, manufacturer’s literature, diagrams or schematics
- Ability to use computer effectively, Microsoft programs, maintenance management system, e-mail, etc.
Physical Demands
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
- Employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Employee is occasionally required to climb stairs/ladders (including vertical)
- Employee must be able lift up to 55 pounds and move 250 lb drums
- Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision.
- Must be “fit for duty”.
- Work in awkward or confining workspaces.
- Work in elevated places.
- Work in outdoor environment.
- Work in noisy environment.
- Work in areas that are dusty and have some odor from chemicals and etc.
- Work safely at all times.
- Able to work in Adverse Weather Conditions.
Medical Requirement
Chemtrade is committed to the safety and health of its employees and the public. All employees are required to complete and pass their annually held medical assessments, including but not limited to the Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) and the ability to wear a respirator as a condition of employment
Responsibilities
- Receives work assignments daily from the Maintenance Supervisor or Traffic and Inventory Coordinator
- Pre and Post Loading and Unloading Inspections of SBS Railcars, Spent and Fresh Acid Railcars and Tank Trucks.
- Physical capability of performing tasks in 100-degree ambient temperatures while wearing Protective Personal Protection such as Acid Resistant approved PVC rain suit (topcoat, bottom pants, rubber boots, gloves, and face shield)
- Unloading and Loading of Spent and Fresh Acid Tank Trucks and Railcars.
- Accurately fill out paperwork associated with load/unloading rail cars and trucks
- Fresh Acid Tank Transfers.
- Aligning of Tanks to Load Tank Trucks and Railcars.
- Daily Safety Inspection to Ensure all Operations Meet or Exceed Environmental and Safety Regulations.
- Weekly Safety Shower Inspections.
- Train Drivers to Self-Load Fresh Acid Tank Trucks.
- Completes Annual Computer Based Training and Procedure Training.
- Ability to perform Maintenance activities
- Other Duties as Assigned.
