The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Gaming & Engagement Specialist connects, serves, and empowers WWP warriors and family support members by planning and executing virtual, live-streaming and face-to-face gaming events and activities while also providing social networking opportunities for wounded service members and family support members.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Connect with wounded service members, their families, and family support members who are in transition or have separated from military service. Establish rapport and communicate the benefits of WWP programs and services provided for wounded warriors.
• Recruit wounded warriors and family support members to participate in WWP virtual, live-streaming and face-to-face gaming events and activities.
• Plan and execute national and regional virtual and face-to-face gaming events as well as activities that will connect and engage warriors and their families.
• Utilize social media channels, e.g., Discord and other approved platforms, to connect and engage with warriors.
• In coordination with the WWP Play: Stream to Serve team, support and expand WWP's Discord server through networking and events with wounded warriors and family support members. Assist members of WWP's Discord server by providing technical assistance as needed. Assist wounded warriors, family support members and WWP supporters by fielding questions and answering or referring to appropriate WWP staff.
• Collect and report results and performance metrics for Alumni gaming events and activities.
• Maintain current and accurate data in WWP intranet electronic tracking systems, e.g., Salesforce.
• Support the WWP Play: Stream to Serve initiative and Programs by representing the organization at approved gaming events. Serve as point-of-contact for WWP warriors and their family members and refer them to appropriate WWP programs, resources, or staff.
• Identify community events and activities that provide opportunities for warrior participation and connection.
• Regularly communicate and network with wounded warriors and serve as a resource and mentor. Assess the needs of warriors and family support members and connect them with WWP programs and services that will assist with their long-term recovery and empowerment.
• Enhance community support for WWP through gaming and outreach, communicating the benefits of WWP programs and services, and inspiring others to become involved with and support the WWP mission.
• Establish effective working relationships and work collaboratively with WWP teammates. Directly coordinate with the WWP Play: Stream to Serve team and Alumni program regarding opportunities and activities.
• Utilize expense controls and seek cost-saving opportunities to help manage budget effectively.
• Develop and build relationships with military-focused nonprofit organizations and community groups. Locate wounded warriors who have not had contact with WWP and introduce WWP's programs and services.
• Ability to work non-traditional hours and weekends.
• Other related duties as assigned.

• Demonstrated working understanding of social media channels as well as gaming and livestreaming platforms, e.g., Discord, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Twitch, and others.
• Comprehensive understanding of the live streaming and gaming community.
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport with an understanding of relationship management and partnering.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional relationships. Good interpersonal skills. EDUCATION
Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.

Preferences

• Bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE
Requirements

• Three years of experience developing and building relationships with veterans, or veteran or military organizations, or members of the community.
• Three years of experience planning events and activities.
• Two years of experience using online gaming platforms, e.g., PlayStation, XBox, PC, Switch, mobile.
• Experience planning and hosting virtual gaming events or tournaments.

Preferences

• Two years of experience with livestreaming and gaming.
• Two years of experience using Discord as a server moderator.
• One year of experience with Salesforce and CVent.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES
Requirements

• Valid state-issued driver's license.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• General office environment, temperature controlled. Standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time.
• Participation in virtual and face-to-face activities and events, and in regional and national gaming conventions.
• Up to 50% travel.
• May require lifting/carrying items up to 50 pounds.

For Colorado Applicants: The estimated hiring range for this position is between $52,684 - $79,027 annual base salary, subject to a candidate's combination of experience, qualifications, and credentials. This position may also be eligible for an annual performance incentive.
For San Diego or Sacramento, California and Washington state Applicants: The estimated hiring range for this position is between $57,702 - $86,553 annual base salary, subject to a candidate's combination of experience, qualifications, and credentials. This position may also be eligible for an annual performance incentive.
For Los Angeles, California Applicants: The estimated hiring range for this position is between $60,2011 - $90,316 annual base salary, subject to a candidate's combination of experience, qualifications, and credentials. This position may also be eligible for an annual performance incentive.
For New York State Applicants: The estimated hiring range for this position is between $62,720 - $94,080 annual base salary, subject to a candidate's combination of experience, qualifications, and credentials. This position may also be eligible for an annual performance incentive.
