3rd shift Buffer

Job Summary
This is a detail oriented, fast paced position that operates/tends a motorized buffing wheel. The Buffing operator attaches a finished part to the buffer and while the part is rotating, the Buffer lightly applies sandpaper to create a smooth finish on the part surface.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Adhere to company Safety and product Quality standards.
• Keeps an accurate record of conforming, non-conforming and scrap parts produced each hour.
• Verify written information on production routing sheets and comprehend written work instructions.
• Presents any possible problem to floor supervisor or process engineer.
• Maintain a clean and safe work station - participate in the department 5S program.
• Maintain a high level of attendance and communicate absences with your supervisor.
Requirements
Experience/Education Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Prior manufacturing experience preferred
Physical requirements
• Work performed in a factory setting
• Regularly lifts and/or move up to 40 lbs and occasionally must lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
• Regularly required to stand, bend, reach, kneel, crouch and walk about the production facility.
Regularly required to use their hands and fingers to feel objects and verify that parts have a smooth finish
Salary Description
$13/hour
