SalaryWe are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Plant Care supervisor to help assist with and supervise Live Plant Care, maintenance and sales. Experience with multiple types of plants (annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, roses, houseplants and tropicals) will be necessary to be successful in this position, as well as a retail and customer service background.

Role and Responsibilities:
Maintain the highest level and standards of Plant Care, merchandising and customer service in all departments. Supervise, train, and motivate to ensure quality of service, productivity, and job satisfaction for each member of the team. Responsibilities include Plant Care (watering, trimming, cleaning pots, leaf shine, pest, and disease control), sales, plant receiving, inventory, correct pricing, signage, safety, cleanliness, merchandising, rotating gift shop stock.
Tasks:
Provide excellent customer service
Ensure proper use of employee punch system.
Schedule staff according to budget goals, adjust accordingly with weather conditions or sales.
Ensure excellence in maintenance (watering, trimming, deadheading) of plant material.
Confer with visual merchandising to coordinate displays
Oversee all elements of customer experience by directing:
- Presence of sales staff in all departments
- Resolution of customer concerns that exceed customer expectation.
- Attention to detail including cleanliness and safety. Staff adherence to proper uniform, phone, and radio procedures.
- Adherence to merchandising standards.
- Coordination of sign program for nursery area.
- Sales and plant material knowledge training of staff.
Attendance at weekly supervisor meetings to discuss merchandising, new product arrivals, budget concerns, merchandising and marketing plans.
Education and Other Requirements:
Garden Center retail experience preferred
Plant care knowledge and interest
Skills Required:
Computer literacy. Excel and Word proficiency preferred.
Problem solving mindset
Leadership ability with communication and organizational skills Can lead by example.
Acts with Integrity. Demonstrates responsible and honest behavior in all roles.
Ability to multitask and prioritize workflow effectively.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
