We are on a mission to help developers and organizations, such as Cisco, IBM, PayPal, and Tesla, store and analyze real-time data, empowering them to build transformative monitoring, analytics, and IoT applications quickly and to scale.
You'll be using your skills with operations large Linux environments to maintain and extend the foundational technologies that provide highly available, distributed services to InfluxData's customers. Those customers in turn provide highly available time series data to their mission critical applications.
You'll bring your experience with operating multi-cloud infrastructure to a fully remote, global team. You appreciate that great products require great culture and you design and implement technology with respect and kindness across multiple engineering teams.

What you'd bring to the table:
Experience managing thousands of Linux hosts with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, Salt, or Chef.
You create infrastructure with code using Hashicorp tooling like Terraform, Packer, and Vagrant.
You dislike click-ops, and prefer Git-ops.
You can spot manual toil and design automation to make it work while you sleep.
You've designed and delivered architecture using AWS, GCP, and/or Azure.
You're very comfortable in a shell or two, and have a strong opinion about a text editor.
You don't need to be a software engineer, but being comfortable looking over some Go and Python will help you a lot here. If you're able to hack together a Python script or two, even better.
Bonus if you've had experience:
Implementing and abiding by SLOs dictated by mature SLIs in production.
Being an incident lead, engaging multiple groups simultaneously to resolve critical problems.
Thriving in a remote-first, distributed team environment that shares on-call duties.
Pay Transparency at InfluxData
InfluxData takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into two zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The offered starting salary will be determined based on the candidate's job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Ranges are evaluated on a periodic basis and are subject to change at the Company's discretion.
Range: $130,000- $160,000 USD
