Great Opportunity! We are looking for cooks to join our amazing Dining Services team!
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY :
Supervision of meals to ensure resident service and satisfaction; training of employees; ensure employees conform to standards of the Food Service Department (i.e. uniforms, time and leave, service, sanitation and safety).
Essential Job Functions:
1. Plans individual cooking schedule so that all foods assigned to prepare will be properly cooked and ready at the appropriate time.
2. Assembles items needed for preparation from refrigerators and storerooms.
3. Follows standardized recipes and portioning procedures to prepare meats, gravies, casseroles, vegetables and desserts that require cooking.
4. Tastes all food during preparation to ascertain if foods are seasoned and cooked correctly; makes adjustments to seasoning and cooking time as necessary.
5. Merchandises foods to be served in the dining room and at special functions in such a way to make them attractive and easily served in standardized portions.
6. Monitors tray line throughout serving periods to ensure that foods are available to replenish when needed without delay.
7. Keeps cooking area in kitchen clean and orderly at all times, following outlined cleaning procedures.
8. Prepares leftover food for proper storage labeled with description of food and date.
9. Schedules and prepares foods for special functions as planned and listed on the production sheets.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School graduate or equivalent prefer 3 years cooking experience. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Must be willing to work nights, weekends and some holidays as assigned.
