Position Overview:
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and proficient understanding of loading, unloading, and moving raw materials within or near the plant, as well as regrinding scrap products.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Adheres to all safety and quality policies and procedures.
- Operates a Lift Truck in a safe and proficient manner, ensuring smooth operations for a 12-hour period.
- Provides necessary raw materials to production as required.
- Transfers finished goods from the production area, places production tickets on pallets, and stores them in the appropriate warehouse location.
- Utilizes the SAP Computer System to tag finished products and possess knowledge of the required materials.
- Stacks finished products in the warehouse in a neat and organized manner.
- Demonstrates flexibility and the ability to work any shift.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment that may change rapidly.
- Works safely in a tight production area, wearing the required safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
- Accepts any other duties or changes to the position as requested by the Shift Supervisor to meet production needs.
- Operates various types of equipment and machinery.
- Demonstrates knowledge of dock door operations, levelers, locks, and overall dock procedures.
- Works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED. Some post-secondary education preferred (e.g., Technical or Vocational education).
- Lift truck certification and previous work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of Lift Truck experience required; experience with sit-down Lift Trucks preferred.
- Ability to accurately recognize, understand, and enter numerical values into an online database. Strong mathematical ability is essential.
- Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Ability to visually differentiate fine variations in color and identify visual defects.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination to operate equipment.
- Capability to make priority decisions and exercise independent judgment based on the situation at hand.
- Proficiency in using a computer and related software effectively and efficiently.
- Availability to work all shifts and required overtime.
- No travel required.
