Lifeguard (Seasonal)- Part-Time

West Oaks Hospital has provided psychiatric care to the Houston area and surrounding communities for over three decades. Our 176-bed acute care facility is fully accredited and included a 16-bed residential treatment center for adult chemical dependency.

We offer a broad range of behavioral health programs for children, adolescents and adults. Treatment is offered at multiple levels of care including inpatient, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient.

We are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to assist you and answer your questions about treatment options and insurance coverage. The hospital is easily accessible off the Southwest Freeway near the Galleria.

West Oaks Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Certified Lifeguard to work Part-time (Temporary May 26-Sept 28)--Hours: Sun - Sat 9a-4p and join our team of compassionate, dedicated professionals. The Lifeguard's primary responsibility is to prevent drowning and other injuries from occurring. The Lifeguard must be able to ensure the safety of patients by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors. The Lifeguard must be able to enforce pool policies and be able to communicate effectively why policies are in place.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Supervises swimming activities at the West Oaks pool and ensures that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed.
• Warns swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforces pool regulations and water safety policies.
• Administers first aid in the event of injury, rescues swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administers CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary
• Evaluates conditions for safety and initiates emergency action plan as required.
• Inspects pool facilities, equipment, and water to ensure that they are safe and usable.
• Performs pool maintenance as needed.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 31 per week
