The Leonardo DRS Land Electronics business provides C4I Network computing and integrated situational awareness, as well as state-of-the-art embedded diagnostics, vehicle power management and combat vehicle integration products and services.

Job Summary

The Customer Life Cycle Support Campaign Triad PMO lead will be the Program Management representative to the campaign leadership triad (consisting of BD, Operations and Program Management), One of 8 campaigns in the DRS Land Electronics line of business (LOB), the CLCS Campaign explores new and novel ways to bring the full benefit of Life Cycle Services to the business's sister campaigns and our customers. The focused approach to areas like warranty and repair capabilities, at the program level, are intended to establish a competitive advantage for DLE.  This focused approach will also result in delivering a service level that our customers deserve. From a business perspective, the intent is to not only provide our customers the postproduction Life Cycle Support they need, it is also to monetize certain services that will generate additional income and drive profitability for the business. Internally, our intent is to service the sister campaigns with proposal support for warranty planning, costing, inventory management and repair execution.

Job Responsibilities

Include but not limited to:

  • Responsible as Campaign Manager and Program Manager in Operational Energy Market area which includes delivering capabilities such as smart power control/distribution, efficient, high-power generation, and system integration.
  • This position will be required to work closely with Business Development, Engineering, and Marketing and Sales to develop a campaign strategy to ensure growth of the campaign portfolio
  • When assigned as Program Manager, will ensure project execution via integrated product team approach (kickoff through project close)
  • When assigned supervisory responsibility over other project managers, manage their development to include coaching, teaching, retaining, and mentoring 
  • Prepare for and participate in contract/subcontract negotiations. While representing Company's interests, assure that all government regulatory guidance is adhered to
  • Formally identifies, assesses, monitors, and mitigates risk throughout the program Life Cycle. Obtains management approval prior to making decisions that will cause deterioration of established program, cost, and schedule objectives
  • Develop and implement recovery plans for yellow and red programs (i.e., schedule, technical performance) and corrective action plans when deviations from budgets and/or schedules are evident
  • Perform variance analyses of schedule and cost on a formal and informal basis and present them to senior management (i.e.: earned value management system)
  • Serve as the primary interface with the customer on all matters involving contract execution. Coordinate with other departments on resolution of contractual problems with the customer. Coordinate with Contracts Administration on issues pertaining to contract requirements, changes, and interpretations.
  • Lead monthly Campaign/Program reviews for the campaign
  • Manage Internal Research and Development projects, when assigned
  • Understand cash flow management principles
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization
Qualifications
  • Engineering or business degree required. Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of program management experience in aerospace/defense industry with a portfolio of projects that include power generation, smart power management, and power distribution development and production programs.
  • Candidate must have experience Full Life Cycle project/program management experience preferred.
  • PMP or DAU Level 3 certification is preferred, along with advanced knowledge of program management tools and procedures. 
  • Must have significant experience with proposal development, requirements decomposition, and generation of WBS', WBS dictionaries, statements of work, subcontracts, risk management, and continuous process improvement methodologies.  Formal capture management experience and training is preferred.
  • Must have effective leadership and management skills, along with excellent presentation skills.  Experience with cost accounting, reporting, and metrics for assessing and reporting program progress, productivity and variance analysis is required.
  • Must possess excellent customer interface skills
  • Must have demonstrated success in managing manpower planning, project reviews, scheduling and budget control
  • Must have a history managing a portfolio of programs in which financial objectives (profit, cash flow, revenue, bookings) were achieved
  • Prefer experience with turnaround programs in which recovery was successful
