Life Skills Support Elementary Level-We anticipate the need to expand our Life Skills support programming at the elementary level (K-5). The successful candidate will support students identified with intellectual disabilities and other developmental delays that require direct instruction in daily living and functional skills. A strong understanding of how to teach foundational academic skills will be key. Ability to collaborate with parents and a team of professionals (general education teachers, related service providers, outside providers, administrators, other special education teachers) is essential.
Candidate must develop, implement, and monitor progress of IEPs and other special education related paperwork for students with low incidence disabilities. Candidate should have experience in organizing and implementing an instructional program for students identified as needing support in the areas of academics and functional or vocational skills necessary for independent living. In addition, candidate should have a thorough knowledge and understanding of differentiation, technology, and using best practices for academics and behaviors.
Current PA Special Education certification K- 8 and Elementary PreK- 4 are required; Additional certification in Elementary 5-8 and direct experience in supporting students with complex medical, developmental, and physical disabilities preferred.
Compensation: Salary and benefits are set by the collective bargaining agreement for all contracted positions.
