We are looking for an Activities Coordinator to join our skilled nursing facility (SNF) at our University Place campus! The shift is Monday through Friday from 8:30a - 4:30p.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Activities Director Certification highly preferred
- Successful completion of a six (6) week Activities Coordinator training program within one (1) year of employment.
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
- 2+ years of experience as an Activities Coordinator involving adult activities for long term care.
- Ability to meet physical demands of sitting, standing, walking, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
Principal Accountabilities
- Develops recreational and leisure programs (independent and group) and in-services for residents according to assessment of each resident's physical abilities and interests, according to the age/needs of the patient/population served; schedules programs, preparing/distributing a monthly calendar.
- Participates in the MDS process and care plan by completing activity assessment and plans according to regulations; maintains records of patient's/resident's participation in programming.
- Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
- Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
