Job Description:

Arclin USA is currently looking for a Licensed Wastewater Treatment Operator for our East Longmeadow, MA location. Reporting into the Environmental Health & Safety Manager, this position requires you to be a Licensed Wastewater Treatment Operator in a MA Grade 3 Industrial facility. Your primary responsibility is to operate and maintain Wastewater Treatment in the plant while being in compliance with regulatory standards and environmental regulations. You will be tasked with managing the treatment process to ensure the safe and efficient removal of contaminants from wastewater before it is discharged back into the environment or reused.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate Treatment Equipment: Operate and monitor pumps, valves, meters, and other equipment to control the flow and processing of wastewater through treatment systems.
• Perform Testing and Analysis: Conduct regular tests and analysis of wastewater samples to monitor levels of pollutants, pH levels, and other parameters to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Troubleshoot and Maintenance: Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the efficient operation of treatment plants.
• Compliance Monitoring: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing Wastewater Treatment operations, including record-keeping and reporting requirements.
• Emergency Response: Respond to emergencies such as equipment failures, spills, or other incidents that may impact the safety or effectiveness of Wastewater Treatment processes.
• Training and Documentation: Train and supervise staff on proper procedures and safety protocols. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to plant operations and regulatory compliance.
• Environmental Monitoring: Monitor environmental factors such as air quality, odor emissions, and water discharge to mitigate potential impacts on surrounding communities and ecosystems.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements to optimize Wastewater Treatment operations.

Qualifications:

• Possess an active MA grade 3-I or above full Wastewater Treatment Operator license, issued by the appropriate regulatory agency.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or degree in environmental science, chemistry, or related field preferred.
• Previous experience in Wastewater Treatment operations or a related field is typically required.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining treatment equipment, conducting laboratory tests, and interpreting technical data.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with colleagues, regulatory agencies, and the public.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and resolve operational issues in a timely manner.
• Ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
• Diligence in conducting tests and maintaining accurate records to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
