The Staff Nurse - Residential renders professional nursing care at the residential site pursuant to the objectives and policies of the facility. Must possess excellent assessment skills, self-confidence and be assertive in advocating for good patient care in working independently as a nurse. Must be highly organized and prioritize all nursing tasks and procedures in a shift. Education of patients and staff is a vital component of this position. Work is full time with work during the week and some weekends. Some on-call work is required. Work is performed at the residential site.

Shift available:
- Part -time AM Shift, Saturdays & Sundays 7am to 4pm
Earn $2/hr. shift differential when regularly scheduled on and working the 3pm - 11:30pm shift.

Job Duties:
- Performs nursing techniques for the comfort and well-being of the patient.
- Supervises, administers, assists with, and delegates the distribution of medications.
- Takes vital signs and monitors the medical progress of patients. Completes documentation and reporting.
- Follows physician's orders and individual nursing care plans, including assisting patients with daily routines, catheter irrigating and assisting with respiratory treatments.
- Provides emergency first-aid for patients and staff if needed. Administers TB tests and Hepatitis B vaccines for staff.
- Teaches, monitors, administers and documents individual patient programs including ADL's (as outlined on the Needs and Services Plans) and therapeutic home programs in English.
- Performs toilet and chair transfers with assistance for patients up to 150 pounds utilizing approved transfer techniques.
- Provides for the safety of patients, visitors, staff and self when interacting with patients who may have behavioral outbursts.
- May transport patients in company-owned or personal vehicle when company transportation vehicles are unavailable requiring transferring and driving abilities.
Requirements:
- Current/clear California LVN licensure required. Blood Draw and IV certifications preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment, post-offer drug screen, health screen, including TB clearance, and fingerprint clearance.
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including skill sets, experience, education and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It’s not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are arrived at each unique case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $25.00 - $41.02 per hour.
