VCA Shelden Animal Hospital is seeking a talentedLicensed Veterinary Technician to join the team at our AAHA-accredited and Fear Free Practice Certified 2-doctor animal hospital in Louisville, KY!
About Us
We offer a variety of services, including wellness and urgent care, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, ultrasound, laser therapy, and much more. We see dogs and cats exclusively. There are many opportunities to learn and grow with us!
Our collaborative team is committed to the well-being of our patients, our clients, and each other. We are open weekdays 8am - 5 pm, limited Saturdays 8am - 2pm, and closed Sunday.
We are a Fear Free Certified Practice therefore fear, anxiety, stress is recognized by each team member. You will have an opportunity to learn and master Fear Free techniques at VCA Shelden.
We promote the highest quality care for our patients including early disease detection and recommending regular checkup exams annually and semiannually.

About the Role
As LVT, you will help create and maintain a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our patients and clients. Duties will include:
- Compassionate patient care
- Client education and care
- Venipuncture and catheter placement
- Radiology and diagnostics
- Lab sample collection and processing
- Surgical preparation and assisting
- Anesthesia monitoring
- Dentistry
- Medication preparation and administration
- Safe and effective patient handling and restraint
- Medical recordkeeping
