Veterinary Surgery Technician

All 4 Paws is a well-established general practice seeking to add a Surgery Technician to our friendly team for our location in central Kentucky, close to Lexington Kentucky. A strong emphasis is placed on continuing education, client education, and strengthening the doctor/client/pet bond. We are closed on all major holidays and do not offer after hour emergency care. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. This position requires expertise in canine and feline: surgery, laboratory, and general veterinary procedures. Duties:
- Assist veterinarians in performing medical procedures and surgeries
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Perform laboratory tests and analyze results
- Prepare animals for surgery and monitor their post-operative recovery
- Provide compassionate care to animals during their stay at the clinic
- Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and progress
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and treatment plans
- Handle and restrain animals safely and effectively during examinations and procedures
- Clean and sanitize equipment, exam rooms, and kennels

Requirements:

- Experience working with canine and feline patients is highly desirable
- Proficient in laboratory procedures, including sample collection and analysis
- Knowledge of aseptic technique for surgical procedures
- Strong understanding of animal behavior and handling techniques
- Excellent communication skills with both clients and team members
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Physical stamina to lift heavy animals and stand for long periods of time
