Job description

Northwest Animal Eye Specialists Hospital is a well-established 3 doctor practice with locations in Kirkland and Renton. We are ophthalmology-only so we do not handle euthanasia and end of life care, but compassion is embodied at all times. This position is for our Renton location. We pride ourselves on our collaborative partnership with primary care veterinarians, giving exceptional patient care and excellent client service, and for being a truly great place to work!

NWAES has an excellent reputation in the community for providing quality eye care to our patients and personal service to our clients. Our team is compassionate, ethical, and honest and we understand the deep importance of the human-animal bond. We strive to provide progressive, high-standard medicine while accommodating the different needs/resources of our clients.

Our beautiful hospitals are paperless as well as AAHA accredited. We primarily see dogs and cats, but we also see horse’s small animals, wildlife, and all kinds of exotics!

Qualities we are seeking in our technicians are: team-player, positive attitude, excellent technical skills, detail-oriented, good communication skills, professional demeanor, motivated/self-starter, ability to multi-task and adapt to different doctors, hard-working, reliable, and an understanding of the importance of quality client/patient service.

Your responsibilities include those that are standard to a Licensed Veterinary Technician. As a technician you are expected to work closely and communicate well with the doctors and assistants to help manage/delegate patient care efficiently. Also, responsible for patient care in the following capacities: facilitating outpatient treatments, performing laboratory tests, surgery prep and assistance, anesthesia monitoring and recovery, triaging, admitting and discharging patients, and client communication and education. Inventory duties would be completing weekly inventory, ordering drugs and supplies. Maintaining and updating our practice management system.

We offer a competitive hourly wage and an employee discount for personal pets as well as paid CE and paid days to attend. Minimum hourly wage of $28 an hour but wage will be increased based on several factors, including experience and level of responsibility assigned.

If you are looking for a great, fun team to work with and you think you might be a good fit for our hospital, please submit your cover letter and resume to our practice manager Tanya Roberts.
