LPN | Qualifications
- Currently licensed and registered to practice as a Practical Nurse in New York State. Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
- Must be interested in gaining knowledge of new procedures and methods through seminars and in-services. The individual could also be a graduate of a practical nursing program in New York State who has applied for a permit.
LPN | Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver direct resident care and assist nurse's aides when necessary.
- Deliver resident care, treatments and medication administration to assigned residents.
- Report to supervisor the condition of residents and result of treatment.
- Report to physician the condition of residents, take off orders, documents, and follow-up orders to their conclusion.
- Document pertinent information on all assigned residents.
- Arrange for transfer of residents to hospitals or clinics.
- Maintain records of all controlled drugs and keep inventory count at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Check residents' comfort, follow-up as necessary, answer call bell as required.
- Collect tests and report specimens as necessary.
- Perform other nursing duties as required.
- Responsible for knowing and following resident’s plan of care for assigned residents.
- Responsible to report any employees not following plan of care.
- Perform other related duties as required by their manager.
