Job Description
Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Medical Surgical (MedSurg) unit at [Hospital Name]. The LPN will work under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians to provide high-quality nursing care to patients admitted to the MedSurg unit. The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Assessing and monitoring the health status of patients admitted to the Medical Surgical unit.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Providing direct patient care, including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), wound care, and monitoring vital signs.
- Collaborating with registered nurses and healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Documenting patient assessments, interventions, and responses to treatments accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Educating patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients in the MedSurg unit.
- Participating in multidisciplinary rounds and meetings to discuss patient care plans and outcomes.
- Adhering to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements at all times.
- Participating in ongoing professional development activities to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Valid license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of OK.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working as an LPN in a hospital setting, preferably in Medical Surgical or acute care.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
