Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Location: Gallipolis, Ohio
Job Type: Full-time, Rotating Schedule, Weekends Required
Salary: $20-$22 hourly/local
Responsibilities:
1. Administer nursing care within the scope of practice outlined by the Ohio Revised Code (Sections 4723.01 to 4723.40).
2. Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), licensed Physician, Dentist, Podiatrist, or Optometrist.
3. Perform skilled practical nursing procedures and treatments, including but not limited to vital statistics collection, oxygen administration, wound care, catheter insertion, medication administration (controlled and non-controlled), and specimen collection.
4. Observe, document, and report patient conditions, taking appropriate actions as necessary.
5. Provide thorough patient teaching and education.
6. Monitor patients during and after procedures, providing necessary support.
7. Assist RNs and Physicians as needed, responding to emergencies and providing first aid and CPR when required.
8. Maintain medical accountability records and prepare related reports/forms, including patient records, medication administration records, and incident reports.
9. Complete and maintain documentation related to infection control and controlled drug administration/tracking.
10. Maintain organized and appropriately stocked work areas, including ordering and inventorying supplies.
11. Communicate with pharmacy as needed to ensure medication stocks are maintained.
12. Perform clerical tasks such as answering phones, filing, copying, and faxing.
13. Provide general nursing care and assist lower-level direct staff in providing unskilled nursing care.
14. Attend medical appointments and participate in meetings as required.
15. Respond to patient alarms and assist in maintaining patient supervision levels as needed.
16. Collaborate with Nursing Supervisor or Director of Nursing on nursing needs and personnel matters.
Qualifications:
1. Current LPN license in the state of Ohio.
2. CPR certification.
3. Strong understanding of nursing principles and practices.
4. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
7. Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
8. Flexibility to work rotating schedules, including weekends.
