HIRING MOTIVATED NURSES FOR SYRACUSE VAMC, SYRACUSE N.Y
Delivers fundamental, knowledge-based care to assigned patients while developing technical competencies. The LPN demonstrates unit/department specific competencies, and competency in caring for adult and geriatric residents. Patients receiving care in the acute care or community living center (CLC) are being treated for any number of medical and psychological conditions. Given the nature of their disease process patients may express intent to harm either themselves or others (suicidal or homicidal ideations) or exhibit behaviors that place the patient at risk for harm or elopement. Some examples of these behaviors include but are not limited to confusion, delirium, and interference with medical devices (e.g. intravenous lines or indwelling urinary catheters). In order to maintain the patient's safety, patients may be assigned a 1:1 sitter. The LPN provides care to the patient under the direction of the RN assigned to care for the patient.
Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)
