The Mental Health Therapist is responsible to provide assessment, therapy, and support services for a mixed caseload including adults, adolescents, and families experiencing Mental Health issues, communication challenges, or family conflict. The therapist will offer guidance to individuals, couples, and families who are dealing with issues that affect their Mental Health and well-being. The clinic uses a holistic approach with a “wellness” model (as opposed to an “illness” one) which highlights and encourages client’s strengths.
Caseload will include veterans, military families, geriatrics, adults and adolescents. Must be able to be paneled with insurance companies such as Tricare, Medicare, Cigna, and Optum. Masters level or higher education required.
Job expectations:
· Work with individuals and families to improve Mental Health
· Encourage clients to discuss emotions and experiences
· Examine issues including substance abuse, aging, bullying, anger management, careers, depression, relationships, LGBTQI issues, self-image, stress and suicide
· Work with families
· Help clients define goals, plan action and gain insight
· Develop therapeutic processes
· Refer clients to other services as needed
· Take a holistic (mind and body) approach to Mental Health care
