Well-Play Counseling & Well-Being Center in Los Angeles, CA is currently seeking dedicated, invested, culturally competent and reliable licensed professionals interested in improving cis-gender and trans-gender women’s Mental Health using a wholistic approach to female empowerment by providing safe, female-centered healing. Our programs involve providing Mental Health treatment to women who are on the journey to becoming their best selves and end transgenerational trauma. 

We want clinicians with a proven track record working with African-American women and other women of color, diagnosing and treating clients with Mental Health issues. By applying evidence-based,  somatic and various other therapeutic modalities.

Clinicians need to be able to complete intakes, assessments, and progress notes in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines through an electronic health records system (Simple Practice). In addition to providing Mental Health treatment, we provide wellness classes through our Social Wellness division and Social-Wellness events.

Well-Play also provides information on wellness on our social media channels so you must be comfortable with using and speaking on most social media platforms. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Uphold and enforce the Well-Play Wellbeing standards, policies and procedures, client rights, and professional code of ethics and conduct.

• Conduct clinical evaluations, bio-psycho-social assessments, client diagnosis and progress notes. Prepare client-centered treatment plans, case management, consultation, education, and refer as needed.

• Provide therapeutic interventions to individuals, groups, and families as needed.

• Facilitate individual psychotherapy sessions and group therapy.

• Provide services in accordance with Well-Play Wellbeing policies and procedures and established Mental Health Standards, as well as within the scope of practice of a licensed therapist.

• Evaluate the individual and family systems as well as assess client’s functioning within work, family, and routines of daily living. Identify areas needing continued support, resources, and treatment. 

• Develop, implement, and maintain partnerships with other community providers.

• Maintain Electronic Health Records to reflect course of treatment and provide required documentation.

• Provide follow-up and aftercare planning services as needed. Expeditiously discharge inactive clients.

• Provide emergency services during work hours and after hours if needed.

• Attend staff meetings, supervisory conferences, training, and other activities, which ensure effective and efficient functioning of clinical operations.

• Adhere to code of ethics, legal aspects of clinical practice, professional standards, duty to warn, abuse and neglect reporting policies and procedures, and exercise professionalism always.

• Exercise a high level of cultural competency, client satisfaction, quality of services, client needs, and overall health and safety of staff and clients.

• Independently build case load through self-promotion, networking, and minimal supervisor referrals.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

•  Work in conjunction with the practice to build a case load. 

•  Must be willing to carry a full caseload (30 clients a week). 

•  The ability to build a curriculum and teach social wellness classes is a plus

•  The ability to facilitate a process group. 

•  Able to exercise independent judgement, initiative, and problem-solving skills.

• Computer literate and experienced with computer programs such as Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, Power Point, Teams, and Excel.  Strong administrative skills [completing paperwork, accurately], and able to manage time effectively.

• Be comfortable using and speaking in social media platforms

• Be comfortable writing blog posts.

• Be comfortable speaking in public or over virtual platforms. 

Education and Experience:

• Master’s degree, or higher, in Mental Health and a licensed through the BBS (MFT, MSW, LPCC) 

• Must have training in CBT and have experience and training in one additional modality 

• Training in a trauma modality is a plus 

• Must have references to verify your skills.

Physical Requirements: 

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Must be able to lift; up to 15 pounds at times. 

Job Type:

• Full-Time: 30 hrs. a week/Part-Time: 15 hrs. a week

Pay: 

• $55K to $90K/year based on experience and cash pay average.

Work Location: 

• Hybrid

• MUST OWN A LAPTOP with up-to-date software and operating system.

• MUST HAVE access to high-speed internet and a safe space to see clients. 

Schedule: 

• Schedule varies: Possible nights and weekends, clinicians set their own schedule  

Travel:

• Approximately 20%
