Job Title:Licensed Fumigator
Reports To: Supply Chain/Logistics Manager
Department: Fumigation
Location: Horizon Nut, LLC

Summary:
A Licensed Fumigator manages all fumigation operations and ensures we are in compliance with the
County Ag Commissioner as well as the Air Board.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Apply federally restricted use pesticides or state restricted materials.
- Keeping records of all fumigation applications. o Creating a packet to track each application. o Electronically tracking usage.

- Report monthly usage to the County Ag Commissioner
- Maintain inventories of Restricted Use Pesticides.
- Maintain inventories of finished goods as well as binned product in specified locations.
- Submit NOI’s (Notice of Intents) to the County Ag Commissioner.
- Coordinate fumigation applications with the County Ag Commissioner when their supervision is needed.
- Apply for annual permits with the county.
- Operate forklift to move restricted use pesticides, product in bins, and finished goods.
- Operate yard dog to move fumigation containers on chassis as well as export containers for shipment.
- Ensure finished goods are properly fumigated to meet shipping schedules.
- Ensure finished goods are properly aired out for shipments.
- Inspect all sea trains and report when maintenance and/or patches are needed.
- Maintain work areas and ensure we are always audit ready.
- Order Restricted Use Pesticides to ensure we do not run out.
- Order necessary materials to ensure we may properly conduct applications.

Education/Experience:

- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the fumigation field
- Minimum 2 years of operating forklift

Certificates and Licenses:

- Driver’s License
- Possess a valid Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC)
- Forklift Certification
- Yard Dog Certification
- QAC License preferred but not mandatory. o If the license is not already received, the candidate will need to take the exam to receive the
QAC license.

Reasoning Ability:
Employee has the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Skill and Ability Requirements:

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of the fumigation requirements
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel and Word, in particular)
- Proficient in standard processing software
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple orders at once.
- Must be able to analyze production plans and storage capacities for future fumigations.
- Ability to pass a Certified Fit Test for full face masks and self-contained breathing apparatus

(SCBA).
- Ability to operate a forklift and pass forklift certification training/test.
- Ability to operate yard dog and pass yard dog certification training/test.

Math Ability:

- Basic Math Skills
- Must be able to calculate dosage requirements based upon cubic feet and dosage rates.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
