As part of the integrated health model of Coastal Community Health Services (CCHS), this position provides behavioral health services to adult, adolescents or child patients currently receiving primary care services at CCHS. The Behavioral Health Specialist conducts screening, assessment, brief treatment, and consultative services to patients with mild to moderate mental health and/or substance use disorders. As a licensed clinician, the Behavioral Health Specialist will utilize Evidence-based practice using brief treatment modalities and provide linkage and referrals to community services as needed. The Behavioral Health Specialist will work from an interdisciplinary approach and in collaboration with the PCP (Primary Care Provider) and Care Coordinator (if assigned). Open M-F. Responsibilities:
- Deciding on the best course of treatment for addiction.
- Make a referral to the appropriate treatment program.
- Conducting group psychotherapy and counseling with multi-ethnic groups of women.
- Guiding people toward recovery from addiction.
- Evaluating patients for medication suitable for treating their addiction.
