Library Associate - Access Services

The Library Associate-Access Services will complete a variety of work within the Access Services department of the library. The primary duty is interlibrary loan. Other duties include working at the library service desk; assisting library patrons; and supervising work study students.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the Interlibrary Loan program
- Process requests placed by library patrons and those requested by other institutions.
- Process RapidILL requests.
- Process requests in Tipasa
- Assist Library Access Services Coordinator with training, scheduling, and supervision of student employees.
- Social Media Manager - create and post content via the Library's social media accounts.
- Assist Library patrons as needed
- Order supplies for the department.
- Staff the Library Service Desk as needed.
- Demonstrate a commitment to high level customer service.
- Model excellent customer service for student employees.
- Interpret library policies and procedures for patrons while handling their questions or concerns in a professional and friendly manner.
- Exhibit a commitment to support the Canisius College and ALB Library mission, vision, goals, and objectives.
- Other duties as assigned by Library Access Services Coordinator.
Qualifications:
- An Associate's Degree or higher is preferred.
- Prior experience in public or school libraries is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:
This is a modified full-time, 12-month hourly position. Benefits are available the first of the month after the full-time employee's date of hire and include - health, dental and vision insurance, life and long term disability insurance, and retirement plan enrollment is available to full-time employees with contribution from College after one year. Paid holidays, vacation, personal leave and sick leave. Tuition benefits are also available for full-time employees and their qualified dependents.
