A part-time, year-round, position responsible for performing a variety of library Technical Services and clerical work. May require some evenings. Monday - Thursday 9 am - 2 pm (may require some evenings).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in processing new acquisitions.
- Assists in maintaining the library online catalog.
- Repairs and mends library materials.
- Participates in inventory.
- Assists with display cases.
- Maintains current knowledge of routines and activities within all areas of the library.
- Maintains current knowledge of the requirements and activities of the Florida Library Virtual Campus (FLVC) as it pertains to SFSC.
- Provides backup support to the circulation desk as needed.
- Answers the telephone and directs inquiries to appropriate staff.
- Instructs and assists library patrons in the use of library technology.
- Maintains currency/proficiency by participating in professional development activities.
- Supervises student assistants and volunteers as assigned.
- Contributes to unit planning, assessment, and college institutional effectiveness efforts.
- Acts in accordance with College policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Educational: Associate degree or equivalency preferred.
Experiential: Previous library experience preferred. Familiarity with computerized library services preferred.
Other: Computer literacy required. Candidates should be detail-oriented. Flexibility in scheduling required.
