Description & Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Format and edit litigation documents, including both civil and criminal pleadings, motions, discovery, trial materials and appellate briefs.
- All aspects of electronic discovery, including the ability to manage document reviews and productions, i.e., loading and coding documents, bates numbering, logging productions, and searching for documents in Relativity database
- Possess knowledge of federal/state electronic court filing procedures and interaction with court personnel.
- Attend depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial, and handling logistics, exhibits, assisting in preparing witnesses and experts, and technology needs relating to same
- Proofread and review all written work, including correspondence, memos, discovery and court filings.
- Calendar court deadlines.
- Organize discovery, research, pleadings, and other relevant documents for attorney review and case preparation
- Manage attorneys’ client, court, and firm administrative obligations and deadlines.
- Support attorneys’ participation in outside organizations and sponsorship of client development events.
- Assist attorneys with compliance of firm billing and timekeeping requirements.
- Review and edit client bills in accordance with client billing requirements.
- Manage conflicts checks, new client matter openings, engagement and waiver letters.
- Manage attorneys’ travel portfolios, including making travel arrangements, maintaining travel profiles, developing cost effective travel solutions and calendaring travel.
- Process expense reimbursements.
- Bachelor’s degree and Paralegal Certificate preferred with three to five years related experience in a mid or large-sized law firm
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and to demonstrate the highest level of client service and response.
- Extremely organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner
- Demonstrate ability to communicate in a proficient, tactful, and confident manner with external clients and coworkers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with electronic document management systems.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and accept responsibility.

COMPENSATION: $63,356 - $103,819 is the estimated salary range for this role in Los Angeles, CA. Starting salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
