Legal Intern

Summer 2024 Internship: This position is located at our HQ in Durham, NC. Expected program dates are May 20 – August 16, 2024.

Job Description:

This role is open to L1 enrolled law school students. The intern will work on legal matters in a wide variety of practice areas including but not limited to, data privacy, corporate transactions, compliance, corporate governance, intellectual property, employee relations (HR), and other adversarial matters.

Areas of Expertise & Special Skills:

• Analytical and logical reasoning skills
• Strong research, writing and oral communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with diverse team members.

Responsibilities:

• Research specific questions of law and prepare legal memoranda.
• Draft and edit procurement and customer contracts; present work product to managing attorney.
• Provide IP portfolio management, IP prosecution, and IP litigation support as needed.
• Participate on cross functional teams with other business units.
• Participate in internship events, workshops, and professional development sessions.
• Attend bi-weekly meetings with managing attorneys and client teams.
• Perform other related legal duties as assigned.
