Legal Intern

Integral Ad Science (IAS) is a global technology and data company that builds verification, optimization, and analytics solutions for the advertising industry and we're looking for a Legal Intern to join our Legal team. If you are excited by technology that has the power to handle hundreds of thousands of transactions per second; collect tens of billions of events each day; and evaluate thousands of data-points in real-time all while responding in just a few milliseconds, then IAS is the place for you!
What you'll get to do:

• Assist in reviewing various ad hoc contracts that we receive (customer agreements, software contracts, NDAs etc.)
• Help create and build training / knowledge database for legal team / research into relevant legal topics
• Develop existing legal playbooks / processes
• Review Data Processing Addenda (contracts) from clients and/or vendors
• Develop processes for responding to data subject requests
• Investigate and document the Company's use of data
• Assess Company compliance with state privacy laws

You should apply if you have most of this experience:

• Introductory Contract Analysis: Interest in learning about different types of contracts such as customer agreements, software contracts, and NDAs, and assisting in basic review processes.
• Research and Organizational Skills: Eagerness to engage in legal research and help organize a legal knowledge database, even if you have limited prior experience.
• Process Improvement Interest: Curiosity about legal processes and willingness to contribute ideas to improve existing legal playbooks and procedures.
• Basic Understanding of Data Privacy: Interest in learning about Data Processing Agreements and the role they play in client and vendor relationships.
• Privacy Law Enthusiasm: Keen to learn about state privacy laws and how they apply to company operations, with a focus on practical application.
• Data Handling Awareness: Willingness to explore how the company manages data and to assist in documenting these processes.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Desire to develop practical solutions for responding to data subject requests and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.

The hourly pay for this position is $25 per hour and interns are required to come into the NYC office 3 times a week.
Internship dates: May/June - July/August 2024
