Legal Intern

South Central Power Company is offering a paid internship with our Legal and Risk Management Department at our brand new, Lancaster, Ohio facility.

This position will prepare students for entry into a business setting by providing opportunities to learn more about the legal field. Responsibilities will include assisting the VP of Legal and Risk Management on projects that involve researching, preparing, and editing company documents, developing a risk register, ensuring policies and procedures are compliant, compiling information for presentations and reports as well as working on projects assigned across the organization.

The intern will have the opportunity to job shadow a variety of tasks and procedures in which they will learn valuable information. Candidates must be self-motivated with communication skills and have a desire to further develop their knowledge of this field. Experience utilizing a computer and attention to detail is a must as well as excellent skills in legal research and writing.

Students enrolled in law school and having completed their first year of coursework are encouraged to apply. This internship is expected to last a period of three to six months. A schedule will be determined based on the qualified candidate’s needs.
