Salary range: $80,000-$90,000 (Depending on experience)

Job Description:
The Billing Specialist plays a key role in assisting attorneys with client bill preparation, making sure these bills are processed on time and align with client agreements. This specialist addresses billing inquiries, conducts research on billing issues, and is responsible for the creation and distribution of billing proformas, invoices, and related reports. Acting as a billing consultant to both attorneys and legal secretaries, the specialist ensures that all financial transactions adhere to accounting standards. Additionally, the Billing Specialist frequently works in collaboration with other accounting departments such as e-billing, Accounts Receivable, Cash Applications, Cost Recovery, Pricing, Client Arrangements, Accounts Payable, and Revenue Management, contributing to the firm's efforts to reduce financial risks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts daily billing tasks to assist partners, attorneys, and clients.
- Duties encompass generating and modifying proformas, compiling timecard summaries, updating rates for matters and Timekeepers, and producing client reports as requested by partners and attorneys.
- Commits to ensuring the promptness, accuracy, and approval of monthly invoices, actively addressing any client billing issues to guarantee invoice processing.
- Adheres to and accurately implements client Outside Counsel Guidelines and billing terms.
- Effectively processes electronic invoices, swiftly addressing any rejections or adjustments.
- Exhibits professional communication skills and maintains courteous and professional interactions with partners, attorneys, legal secretaries, accounting staff, vendors, and clients, while respecting confidentiality.
- Possesses strong attention to detail and the capability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Performs additional tasks as required.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
Required:
- A Bachelor's degree or at least two years of experience in a relevant field.
- Skilled in using MS Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles, particularly in relation to Billings and Accounts Receivable.
- Strong mathematical skills.
Preferred:
- Experience working in a law firm setting.
- Familiarity with the implementation or management of diverse client billing agreements.
- Background in handling electronic billing and dealing with electronic billing vendors.
- Proficiency in using 3E and ebilling Hub systems.
