Legal Administrative Assistant for Criminal Law

Hybrid – After 6-12 months- In Office (4) Days/ (1) Work from Home
Summary:
Responsible for supporting two to three criminal attorneys on daily tasks, client communication, calendaring, billing and other tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities:
The expected everyday job responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
· Organization of paper files and client documents through use of a document management system.
· Conduct conflict checks and enter new matters in the LEAP system.
· Entering attorney time into LEAP system for monthly billing.
· Calendaring and staying on top of all deadlines through use of Microsoft 365.
· Scheduling depositions, site inspections, hearings, closings, and meetings for lawyers and other legal staff.
- Preparing pleadings, legal documents, and notices, and updating transactional documents with the most recently negotiated language.
- Assisting attorney in collecting and organizing legal and factual documents.
- Ability to transcribe dictation notes into formal documents.
- Communicating with opposing counsel and other parties, clients, judicial administrative staff, and vendors.
- Transmitting emails and correspondence to clients, witnesses, and court officials by electronic filing, mail, messenger, or fax in limited circumstances.
- Completing administrative forms, such as continuing legal education and billable time for client files.
Qualifications:
· 2-3 years legal administration experience in Criminal Law
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment with minimal supervision.
· Possess strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to organize and track overlapping tasks and assignments, with frequent priority changes.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively.
· Highest standard of professionalism and integrity.
· Strong technical capability and intermediate skills in using MS Office Tools
Education and other designations
· Requires 2-3 years’ law firm experience.
