Position Overview: The Learning Management System (LMS) Specialist has a thorough understanding of the course build process, learner enrollment, report generation, data consistency, integrity, integration with external content providers, administrator training, end user support and continuous enhancements. This role ensures courses and course content are functional in the DigiKey systems including the Learning Management System.
Responsibilities:
- Identifies and communicates opportunities for process and quality improvements, providing feedback on functionality and suggested enhancements.
- Acquires and maintains knowledge of current technology as it applies to LMS software and other systems.
- Writes and maintains technical procedures for L&D Admins, Learning Partners.
- Acts as an internal consultant by analyzing data and recommending solutions to utilize the LMS and other systems to deliver, track training and measure performance to meet organizational objectives.
- Creates and updates resources to train and support learners and leaders on how to use the LMS and other systems for online and professional development.
- Prepares and performs testing for new releases.
- Publishes and archives digital or blended learning solutions, assigns training curricula, and adds and deletes resources.
- Populates course information and enrolls learners.
- Generates standard reports; collaborates with L&D on requirements for custom reports and partners with HRIS on testing and delivery.
- Maintains the overall course structure and sets up courses and programs based on specifications from L&D team.
- Maintains and updates content from external providers.
- Builds online assessments and evaluations in LMS and other systems for courses.
- Provides course troubleshooting and access assistance for users regarding logging in to the LMS and other systems.
- Works with L&D team to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to accessing the LMS, other systems and course content.
Minimum Essential Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2-Year Degree in Human Resources, Learning & Development or similar area of study or equivalent, relevant work experience
- LMS experience preferred, Workday strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Learning & Development function and knowledge of eLearning authoring tools (Articulate preferred)
- Proven ability to hold information confidential
- Ability to collaborate with others at all levels of the organization as well as vendors
- Ability to gain new technical skills quickly
- Customer service skills, responsive attitude
- Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex technical concepts in layman's terms
Tools / Systems / Software
- Learning Management Systems, preferably Workday
- Proficiency in course development software, preferably Articulate
- Full Microsoft Suite, including Teams
Physical Requirements:
- Generally, spend the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as but not limited to a keyboard, mouse, and screen
- Generally, spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body
