Could This Be For You?

We are seeking a Learning Experience Designer II.  This position is responsible for developing high-quality Learning Experiences for Hanger Clinic's Professional Education and Training team strategy.

 

Working closely with world-class O&P and rehab leaders, Hanger Institute and Hanger Clinic staff, you will design vILT and ILT learning activities for internal and external learners, create online courses and collaborate on innovative uses of education technology within our department. Ideally, you have some experience in (a) working and / or providing education within a healthcare setting and (b) designing professional education courses using instructional design software.

Your Impact
  • Design courses using proven design models, technology and adult learning theory for healthcare and medical professionals
  • Work closely with professional education / marketing leadership to develop courses for targeted programs
  • Design ILT, vILT and online learning activities that help learners apply what they are learning and achieve learning goals, such as interactive lessons, learning assessments, practical exercises, engagement in social learning, or other activities based on specified requirements, pedagogical best practices, and user-friendly design
  • Build out organized and user-friendly Learning Experiences using learning platforms (e.g., Adobe Learning Manager, Articulate 360 and Rise 360)

 

Project Coordination (25%)

  • Coordinate education-based projects and facilitate and update course development workflows based on course development process; ensure instructional integrity with quality assurance checks; maintain project timelines; coordinate efforts among the different roles of a project team; provide project status updates to key Professional Education stakeholders.
  • Work with instructors or other subject matter experts to draft and edit learning content, including scripts, storyboards, video lessons, learning assessments, assignment instruction and rubrics, discussion prompts, etc.
  • Carry out quality assurance reviews of course content and sites, identifying and fixing errors, ensuring content is accurate, accessible, and professionally produced in and outside of the LMS platform.
  • Monitor online courses as they are piloted (e.g., reviewing learners' feedback in survey responses or discussion forums), as well as help identify and resolve problems that occur while the project is active.

Other Duties (10%)

  • At the direction of team leadership, support workshops, design learning PPT templates, and guides that support others on the team
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience
  • A valid driver's license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.
Additional Success Factors

Required:

  • Some level of experience in either teaching, instructional design, user experience design, online education, education technology, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, actively listening to customer / team feedback and needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and help team achieve their goals.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, savvy in technology and / or capable of learning quickly, and ability to take initiative in projects with minimal oversight.

 Preferred: We also welcome candidates who have any of the following types of work experience:

  • Experience / certification in instructional design, curriculum design, or teaching in a healthcare setting 
  • Extensive work in designing Learning Experiences for professional education programs, ideally hybrid and online.
  • Using design thinking and instructional design software (i.e. Articulate 360) in developing products or solutions (i.e. SCORM files)
  • Working knowledge of adobe learning manager and/or other online course platforms or learning management systems.
