Purpose:
The Learning Experience Designer is responsible for creating engaging and compelling Learning Experiences for a variety of audiences using various delivery methods. This role will collaborate with SMEs in all areas of the organization to create and design courses and learning materials, develop assessment tools, and evaluate the effectiveness of learning modalities and programs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assess the needs of the learners using learning theories and instructional design models to determine the best way to create a Learning Experience.
- Design engaging and effective Learning Experiences, including developing objectives, creating content, designing activities, and selecting appropriate assessment methods.
- Use technology to enhance the Learning Experience, including video, audio, simulations, gamification, and social media to create an immersive and interactive Learning Experience.
- Apply advanced adult learning theories into practical, application-based leadership learning strategy.
- Deliver learning material using a variety of instructional techniques or formats, both in person and virtually, such as role-playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, and instruction.
- Evaluate the Learning Experience to ensure the desired results are achieved through surveys, interviews, focus groups, data analysis, etc.
- Manage Learning and Development/Training programs to ensure a consistent Learning Experience that directly impacts employee and organizational success.
- Promote collaboration, partnership, and relationships among the organizational employees.
- Be willing to experiment with new technologies and approaches to learning.
- Assist in the daily administration of a Learning Management System.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Demonstrated success shaping the development of new Learning Experiences and the enhancement of existing programs.
- Basic graphics and video creation/editing experience preferred (e.g., Photoshop, PowerPoint, Illustrator, Vyond).
- Experience creating learning materials using Articulate 360 or Adobe Captivate.
- Knowledge of gamification principles and application to Learning Experiences.
- Experience utilizing learning management systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated sound judgment in making decisions with minimal supervision.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Three (3) years’ training or teaching
- Experience with Articulate 360
- Experience in Instructional design.
