Job Description

At Success Academy, we are redefining what’s possible in public education. Since opening our first school in Harlem in 2006, we have swiftly grown to 53 high-performing schools, from Bed-Stuy to the Bronx, serving approximately 20,000 kids. We are scaling to 100 great schools serving 50,000 children across New York City, bringing transformational change here and across the country. Success Academy is growing quickly, which requires rapid scaling of all support operations to ensure increased efficiency with increasing size. Our teachers, scholars, and administrators depend on a sophisticated Supply Chain to ensure that books, curriculum materials, classroom furniture, and technology are in the right place at the right time to maximize learning and development. Success Academy is searching for an experienced Supply Chain professional to lead a talented and enthusiastic team in upgrading Success Academy’s Supply Chain operations to state-of-the-art.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Head of Lean Supply Chain & Project Management, the Leader, Supply Chain , working with the senior Supply Chain management team will:

• Provide strategic direction and create processes for top-level initiatives.

• Develop and implement supplier performance programs with analytical solutions to provide real-time data through dashboards.

• Support development of long-term strategy development within category management

• Manage special projects within categories on behalf of the Head of Lean Supply Chain & Project Management.

• Develop in-house partnerships with the various departments at SA

• Upgrade systems and practices to state-of-the-art. - Continually drive down the cost of procured materials and services.

Qualifications

Our ideal Leader, Supply Chain, will be a graduate with a relevant degree, preferably an advanced business degree, with at least 10 years of experience in strategic Supply Chain management with leadership experience developing and rolling out high-quality procurement programs across an enterprise. Able to demonstrate a track record of excellence, the ideal candidate will hold relevant professional certifications, CIPS or CPSM, for example. Comfortable in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment, our Leader, Supply Chain, will be a quick learner and a team player.

The candidate must demonstrate competency in the following areas:

• Problem-solving. Approach challenges in creative ways and find thoughtful solutions.

• Analytical. Evaluate systems with an eye toward continuous improvement.

• Planning. Ability to effectively plan and manage inventory systems and processes.

• Communication. Gear communications toward varied target audiences and employ negotiation skills as needed. Audiences include vendors, school-based staff, and network staff.

• Technology. Ability and willingness to learn and support various systems.

• Self Starter. Ability to self-manage and work independently.

• Relentless pursuit of excellence. Sky-high standards for self and others; high sense of accountability for self and others

• Enables others to act. Can influence effectively in all directions to achieve the right outcomes, able to navigate effectively across the organization

• Big Picture, Strategic Thinker. Exhibits a higher/machine level thinking, takes the long view (about one’s domain and the enterprise), connects the dots and always considers the second and third-order consequences/implications of actions, is a critical thinker and problem solver

Compensation Range

Annual Salary: $150,000.00 - $175,000.00
